A Collision I Didn’t Know I Needed
There’s something strangely beautiful about mashing chaos with control—panic with power. That’s the spark behind “Kench Anxiety,” my latest creation born from stitching together Doechii’s vocal dynamite from “Anxiety” with the hard-hitting rhythm and swagger of Illusionize & Jenn Morel’s “Kench.”
At first, it felt like trying to fit a tornado into a glass bottle. But once I found the groove, I realized these two worlds didn’t just coexist—they amplified each other.
Why These Tracks?
Doechii’s “Anxiety” is vulnerable and visceral. Her voice carries this urgency, a kind of breathless confession layered with boldness and truth. On the flip side, “Kench” is pure power—a gritty, percussive force that hits you in the chest and dares you to move.
I wanted to see what would happen if I gave Doechii’s storm a dancefloor.
Building “Kench Anxiety”
The process was both surgical and instinctual. I isolated the vocals from “Anxiety” and dropped them into the muscular skeleton of “Kench.” There were moments of doubt—tempo mismatches, tonal clashes—but that’s part of the magic. Every beat was a question, and every bar I mapped out was a gamble that paid off in energy and attitude.
Once the two threads started weaving together, I stopped trying to tame the chaos. I embraced it.
What It Sounds Like (to Me)
“Kench Anxiety” feels like inner turmoil dressed up to party. It’s the sound of spiraling thoughts over booming speakers. There’s tension, yes—but there’s also swagger. The kind that says, “I’m anxious, but I’ll own the room anyway.”
It’s a pulse you can dance to with a message you can feel.
What I Hope You Hear
This isn’t just a mashup. It’s a statement—that even the messiest emotions can move you. That you can take something raw and unsettling and remix it into something bold and danceable.
“Kench Anxiety” is a reminder that you can dance through the discomfort and emerge louder, prouder, and maybe even a little more fearless. Your thoughts and comments always welcome.
